Dithered Light and Shadows

Dithered Light and Shadows

A Shader Journey

On and off for the last three years I have been refining a stylized lighting shader to evoke my favorite textures in pixel art. My first attempt was in unity, and focused almost entirely on shader graph work. My next itteration was in Godot, and was done entirely in their text based shader language. And finally my most recent itterations have been revisiting Unity during Futuregames’s shader programming course.

Below You will find the video tour of my most recent work with dithered lighting, a brief mention of the styles that inspired these shader efforts, and a gallery of stills from various itterations across different platforms.
